I don't particularly care to argue the need for a 64-bit version vs. I'd like to discuss the obvious options and provide some additional thoughts I haven't seen in previous posts on this topic. I'm sure Don sees another "64-bit" topic pop up and his eyebrows go afluff in a scowl because (a) why another annoying post?! and (b) he knows that the project could be vast and hard.īut maybe it doesn't have to be so vast and hard. I fully recognize that the process of creating an XYplorer codebase that can be compiled to a 64-bit app is not a trivial thing. ![]() I'm familiar with the challenges herein from a technical standpoint. Please note that I work in software development. So the official status is published in his well-written piece on VB6, which can be read here. Donald tried to use VB.NET and found it less than appealing. It looks like no one is building a 64-bit compiler for VB6. ![]() ![]() To restate the core issue: XYplorer is a Visual Basic 6 app, and there is no 圆4 compiler for VB6. I'd like to add some thoughts on the oft-discussed possibility of a 64-bit version of the world's best file explorer, XYplorer. ![]()
